1:48 Hurricane Mk IIb trop
The tropical variant of the Hurricane Mk IIb is yet another addition to Arma Hobby’s range aimed at modellers with a taste for 1:48 scale British aviation. Let's have a look.

Overview
Nice illustration on the front of the box with catalogue number 40008 leaves no doubt about what we are dealing with this time.
The kit content is additionally protected by a cardboard insert, which is typical for a larger boxes from AH.
Inside – three injection moulded sprues made of grey plastic, small transparent one, decals, masks and assembly manual.
Mostly these are ingredients known from the earlier 48th scale Arma’s Hurricanes, which shouldn’t be a surprise.
All the plastic
All of the sprues, whether made of grey plastic or transparencies, are well-known elements that we have already encountered in the “normal” Hurricane Mk IIb release.
Therefore, in order to not repeat myself too much, I refer those interested in a thorough inspection of the plastic parts to the review of the earlier set.
Masks
The included masks, cut in the familiar and much-loved yellow adhesive paper, aren't new either.
Two versions of the stickers for the sliding part of the canopy, depending on whether the open or closed option is chosen.
Decals
Markings prepared in the form of decals are obviously completely new. Made in cooperation with Techmod company.
As usual, this means a high quality print with not much to complain about.
Stencils and instrument panel look nice and clear.
Seatbelts, if one likes them in this form, are there too.
Manual
The booklet with step-by-step build guide is typical for AH. Clear and easy-to-follow assembly drawings sprinkled here and there with additional comments.
Suggested paints listed in a table.
Paint schemes, as usual in colour, with decal placement directions.
Usual stuff.
Painting options
With included decals, one can make a miniature in one of three finishes, all hinted on the back of the box.
Hurricane Mk IIb trop „Hurribomber”, HL795/V, No. 274 Squadron RAF, Sidi Haneish (Egypt) and Sidi-Bu Amud (Libya), November 1942
Hurricane Mk IIb trop BG967/A, No. 261 Squadron RAF, China Bay airfield, Triconmalee, Ceylon 1942.
Hurricane Mk IIb trop Z4017/FU-56. No. 81 Squadron RAF, Flight B. Operation „Benedict”. Vaenga, USSR, September-October 1941
The last one in two variants – with or without white markings on the wings.
Summary
The kit in question is a natural progression of Arma Hobby's 1:48 range. What we have here are well-known, high-quality parts, which thanks to the new decals, now allow for a slightly different Hurricane built.
I like it.
